Abstract

In a power supply arrangement for measuring apparatus that includes a measuring unit 5 and a battery 1, for use in an atmosphere in which there is a risk of explosion, the battery 1 is releasably connected to terminals 4 of the measuring unit via a magnetically- controlled switch 2 and via an adjustable electronic current-limiting arrangement 3. A magnet 6 is arranged in the measuring unit, on the side opposite the switch, this magnet being arranged to close the switch only in the state where the battery is plugged in to the terminals of the measuring unit, while the switch remains open in the state where the battery is not plugged in to the terminals. A diode 7 is connected in parallel with the switch and the adjustable current-limiting arrangement to allow the battery to be charged. <IMAGE>
