Abstract

The automatic hydraulic brake has a casing in which are mounted two rotor-stator assemblies, the rotors having blades orientated in the same sense of rotation. The stators have blades mounted in a sense opposed to the rotor blades, a passage (154) in each stator blade communicating between the stator rear surfaces and the pockets defined by the blades. Each stator has a circular sealing lip (136) and a mounting ring extension (138). There is a small radial clearance between the rotor and stator peripheral surfaces, this allowing the development of a constant counter-pressure in the pockets defined by the blades.
