Abstract

1432875 Turbine rotor assemblies ROLLS-ROYCE (1971) Ltd 26 June 1974 [11 July 1973] 32957/73 Heading FIT The invention relates to a rotor such as a turbine rotor of a gas turbine engine, which comprises two coaxial discs, one disc being formed with a plurality of slots and the other being formed with a plurality of corresponding projections, the projections being adapted to engage within the slots by relative rotation of the two discs whereby the discs are secured together. The rotor assembly shown comprises two discs 20, 21 the disc 20 being formed on its inner surface with a first series of radial webs 22 and a second series of radial webs 24, the webs being formed with T-shaped slots 26a, 26b.., and the disc 21 being formed on its inner surface with a first series of radial webs 23 and a second series of radial webs 25, the webs being formed with T-shaped projections 27a, 27b.., the projections engaging with the slots whereby the two discs are secured together. The discs are further secured together by means of bolts passed through bores 32. The two discs are formed at their peripheries 28, 29 with projections by which blades 31 are secured thereto.
