Abstract

1395957 Turbomachine rotors MOTORENUND TURBINEN-UNION MUNCHEN GmbH 14 Aug 1972 [14 Aug 1971] 37908/72 Heading F1T A turbine or compressor rotor comprises a series of blade carrying discs 3, 4, 5, 6 which are axially spaced and connected by intermediate rings 14, 15, 16 consisting respectively of inner members 11, 12, 13 welded, e.g. by electron beam or friction methods, to the adjacent discs and outer members 22, 23, 24 mounted on the inner members by dovetail connections, as at 28. The outer members 22, 23, 24 co-operate with the rotor blade platforms 27, (31, 32, 33) Fig.2 (not shown) to define a smoothly faired wall of the flow duct. The rings and discs are dimensioned such that assembly of the outer members 22, 23, 24 can take place from one end of the rotor. Locking plates such as 26 retain the blades axially in their mounting grooves.
