Abstract
1344221 Turbine stator vanes MOTORENUND TURBINEN-UNION FRIEDRICHSHAFEN GmbH 25 April 1972 [3 May 1971] 19197/72 Heading FIT Each segment 11 of a segmental turbine stator vane ring has a radially inwardly extending flange 18 which is secured between a gas inlet housing 16 and a centering ring 12 by two bolts 15 or the like passing through holes 21, 22 in the flange, hole 21 containing a locating sleeve 14 surrounding the respective bolt 15 with clearance whereas hole 22 surrounds its bolt 15 with sufficient clearance to permit segment 11 to expand cir- cumferentially about the fixed point provided by sleeve 14. The gap between adjacent segments 11 is inclined substantially in the direction of the vane inlet angle and is sealed at the outer periphery by a cover ring 13 having an abutment surface 26. Similarly inclined stress relief slots 24 are provided in outer shroud 23 at alternate flow passages.
