Abstract
The rotary piston engine consists of compressor and motor stages, each having of two rotors. The inside rotor forms a piston fixed to a shaft and the outside rotor forms a cylinder. The two rotors of each stage move eccentrically relative to one another so that the piston constantly touches the inside edge of one part of the cylinder. One part of the space between the rotors is used as a combustion chamber, the other part is used as an exhaust chamber. The chambers are separated by a sliding vane. Each sliding vane is mounted to its inner rotor by a ball and socket joint, and a seal is maintained by pistons acting on the joints and vanes.
