Abstract

Cabinet type deep freezer for preserving and displaying deep frozen prods. including ice cream, has insulated container with covering lid. This container has heat exchangers for maintaining low temperature. One of these heat exchangers is arranged in the vicinity of the upper opening of the insulated container. The cover (11) above the products frozen and the heat exchanger (4,5) near the top opening of the insulated container (1) can be detached. The cover is thermally insulated and has on its outside surface a reflecting layer (12). When the cover (11) is placed into position then the upper heat exchanger (4,5) is switched off. When the cover is removed then this heat exchanger is connected again.
