Abstract

The refrigerated showcase is for the display of foodstuffs, comprising a closed housing mounted on a base with a refrigeration unit equipped with fans. The housing has smooth internal walls, and the refrigeration unit discharges inside it via two orifices at the bottom, along two opposite sidewalls (71, 72). Support plates (14) for the foodstuffs are contained in the housing (1), and are mounted clear of both the sidewalls concerned. The plates can be rotated by means of a central driven shaft (13). The design affords a means of preserving foodstuffs without spoiling their appearance, e.g. by surface cracking as can occur with pastry.
