Abstract

Panels incorporate the cavities filled with concrete, pref. where the panels and/or the concrete infills are cellular structures. Used for lighweight self supporting or light load bearing building panels providing some thermal and acoustic insulation, e.g. for doors, shutters, partitions. Sheet materials of pref. wood, plastic, metal, etc. are used to cover or enclose panels individually or in groups. The cavities for infilling may traverse individual slabs or may be defined as interfacial cavities between surface ribs which butt between adjacent panel faces. The panel body is pref. of expanded polystyrene. The cavities may be filled either by casting or by dipping.
