Prefabricated, multilayer building component esp. for outer walls has a main layer of concrete, an intermediate support layer of light concrete based on a hydraulic binder of porous additives, and an outer layer of material such as paint or plaster. The support layer has a restricted deformability in order to absorb internal stresses in the adjoining layers caused by the prodn. method. Pref. the main layer consists of light concrete with a granular-porous structure pref. of expanded clay and cement. The material is light, has good resistance to mechanical loads, good thermal insulation and low cost.
