Abstract

The prefabricated insulation panel is made of hard cellular plastic with grooves on the major faces to assist the adhesion of plaster or similar coating. The panels are made in a mould, preferably with the grooves being cast at the same time although they can be cut at a later stage. The grooves can form any pattern such as wavy line, zig-zag line or sine curves and prevent the layer of plaster from slipping vertically or horizontally. If both faces of the panel contain grooves, it is preferable that they are offset both sideways and lengthways so that the strength of the panels is not adversely affected.
