Abstract

1,046,915. Building elements. INTERNATIONELLA SIPOREX A.B. April 22, 1965 [April 23, 1964], No. 16923/65. Heading E1V. A structural building element 10 of cellular artificial stone, e.g. concrete comprises a surface formed with a plurality of shallow recesses 13 which are at least almost filled with a soft, porous filling 14 to increase the acoustic absorption coefficient of the surface. The recesses may be in the form of circular recesses or holes or elongated grooves and may be of the same or different dimensions. The walls of the recesses may be slightly undercut. The recesses may be cut, e.g. by milling or sawing so that the walls thereof present open pore cavities. The porous filling may comprise open pore soft foamed plastic, felted mineral wool, or asbestos fibre plait or twine. The elements 10 are reinforced at 11 and recessed at 33 to form jointing channels for concrete mix 32 so that they may be used for constructing floors or roofs. The elements may also be used for walls.
