Abstract

The towed material handling crane has an articulated jib (7, 6) and telescopic boom (6a, b) powered by hydraulic rams and mounted on a revolving pedestal (5) on a twin wheeled trailer. The trailer has a retractable tow bar (12) and a horizontal A-frame (4) with two frontal projections (15) and vertical hydraulic jacks (11). When the crane is in use, the projections engage in tubular chassis members (16) and the trailer frame is jacked off the ground, with the tow bar retracted, to form a solid base for lifting.
