Abstract

The sandwich panel compressing and trimming machine, which carries out the pressing and sizing operations simultaneously, has gripping jaws which pivot about fixed axes on the machine, so as to cut the panel to length without any waste other than dust from the cutting blade, the cutter being lowered by a double crank arm system with the outer ends of the arms attached to fixed pivots on the machine frame, and meeting at the other end at a pivot point on the end of the piston rod of a double acting cylinder. The saw is moved parallel to the holding jaws which are serrated. Both cutter and gripper can be operated by separate cylinders or by a common cylinder.
