Abstract

856,299. Shearing. INDUSTRIE-WERKE KARLSRUHE A.G. Nov. 12, 1958 [Dec. 7, 1957], No. 36304/58. Class 83 (4). An ejector serving to support the severed portion of the work during shearing is tilted at the end of the cutting stroke to eject the severed portion. A bar 1 is fed by a roller conveyer to abut a fluid-pressure actuated gauging stop 17 and is then held by a clamp 3 against the frame 2 which carries a fixed blade 6. As the cut is made by the moving blade 4 which is pivotally mounted on a lever 5 the end of the bar 1 is supported by the ejector 8 journalled on a lever 7 actuated by an eccentric 22. During downward movement of the lever 7 an abutment 15 on the frame 2 tilts the ejector 8. In a modification the moving blade 4 and the support 7 for the ejector have a linear reciprocating motion. In a further modification, the abutment 15 is mounted in guides on the frame 2 and is reciprocated by a separate transmission.
