Abstract

1334942 Flying shears; waste removers SCHLOEMANN AG 21 May 1971 [21 May 1970] 16366/71 Heading B3W In a flying shear which has rotary cutters 2, 3 the front cap end 5 is diverted from the path of the moving stock rod 6 by a guide ledge 13 fixed to an arm 11 which is rockable about a pivot 10 which is mounted on a lug 9 of the blade 3. The ledge 13 moves downwardly and in the feed direction immediately after the crop cut, drawing the crop end 5 downwardly on to a guide surface 16 on the lug 9. The upstream end of the ledge is tapered to encourage the leading end of the rod 6 to ride up on to it en route for a guide 8. The blade 3 is cut away at 14 to allow it to pass under the ledge 13. The arm 11 is rocked about pivot 10 by a lever 12 pivoted to a lever 17 which is rockable relative to a block 18. The block is adjustable in guides 19 to vary the crop end length.
