Abstract

The rotary disc (1) mower includes two blades (2), the disc being attached to a vertical shaft (3) which is connected through bevel gears (4, 8) to shaft (9). The other end of the shaft is connected to a shaft (11) by a universal coupling (10) and shaft (11) is connected by flexible coupling (13) to shaft (12) which bears a bevel gear (14), meshing with pinion (15) which is integral with drive shaft (16). Several of these units may be located to the front or to the side of the tractor and can pivot around the drive shaft so that they can follow the contour of the ground. Each disc with its blades slides along the ground on a skid.
