Abstract

A device for saving petrol and helping to maintain speed limits acts on the accelerator control to keep the driver informed of the position of the control, using the variation in resistance offered by the accelerator control throughout its travel. This variation is achieved by one or more springs (2) or a device giving the same effect, e.g. a rubber, pressure, vacuum or electric device. The spring can be fitted to the engine (1) and to the accelerator control (4), whether this is manually or foot controlled and directly or indirectly fitted to the carburettor.
