Abstract

The fireplace for burning logs is both a means of heat supply and also decorative, but does not allow the smoke to escape into the room. It is easy to light and, once lit, remains burning steadily without the need for constant supervision. A sheet of heat resistant glass which can be fixed or movable completely covers the front of the fireplace, but allows the warming rays to pass through into the room. Air enters at one point only and the flow can be readily adjusted. This design is also fire-preventive because sparks are unable to fly out of the grate into the room.
