Abstract

The equipment regulates the position of the hook of a crane mounted on one support in relation to loads on the other, being particularly for transhipment between a ship and an offshore drilling platform. A measurement unit determines the hook lifting position (18) in relation to the load (10), and works in conjunction with a control unit maintaining the hook in a predetermined position in relation to it. The measurement unit can measure the movement of each support in relation to axes fixed in relation to the earth, each support having an inertia platform producing signals representing the movement of the support concerned. There can be a reference unit on one support, responding to movement of one on the other, thus determining distance from hook to load.
