Abstract

The equipment is particularly for transferring loads between a supply ship and e.g. a drilling platform and comprises a rigid member pivoting close to one end at which it is mounted on the platform. A coupling member pivots close to the other end of the rigid member, and has a free end pivot-mounted on the supply ship. The two members are jointed by a load-supporting rope by which the item is transferred by the action of rope winches. The coupling member can be in the form of an oblong rigid column pivoting at one end in all directions in relation to the rigid member, and at the other in the same manner in relation to the ship. Means can be included for keeping the load-supporting rope under tension.
