Abstract
The diesel engine fuel system consists of a fuel tank, a filter, an electro-magnetic valve and the fuel pump. The electro-magnetic valve is held in the open position when energised with current from the battery via the relay and terminal. Three sensors sense the engine temperature oil pressure and any required condition of the plant driven by the engine. In the event of a dangerous condition arising, the sensors transmit a signal which operates the relay which in turn opens a switch causing the valve to close and shut off the fuel supply. The device is particularly useful when driving irrigation pumps and operates when the water pressure fails.
