Abstract

A shotgun cartridge is made from a plastics sleeve (1) and a plastics end piece (2) shaped so that the latter fits resiliently inside the former, so that they are quickly assembled, resulting in a tight fit. The sleeve (1) has a thick end (3) with a hole (4) through it, into which the boss portion (5) of the end piece is pushed, to project (6) inside the end of the thick portion. At this point, the end piece has a groove (7) into which is fitted a retaining ring (8), forming a mechnical joint. The end piece also has a skirt (9) which fits over the cylindrical end of the sleeve. In an alternative design, the end cap screws into the thick part of the sleeve.
