Abstract

The valve has a central body (1) with a diaphragm valve on each side. The lower valve controls the maximum value of the high pressure which is delivered through the outlet (17) and the upper valve controls the low pressure. In each case, the valve head (14) is in the form of a spherical cap supported by the diaphragm plate (17) which clamps the diaphragm against the spring carrier (6). An auxiliary spring (13) maintains the valve head (14) in contact with the valve seat (15). This arrangement ensures that the valve head (14) sits squarely on the seat (15) until the required maximum pressure overcomes the main spring (4).
