Abstract

1456505 Valves HAWKER SIDDELEY DYNAMICS Ltd 29 Nov 1973 [29 Nov 1972] 55050/72 Heading F2V A pressure regulator which maintains pressure at an outlet 25 at a level relative to a reference pressure at 27 comprises, in one form, a valve plate 23, supported by two concentric bellows 22a, 22b which define a chamber 31 into which the reference pressure is admitted. The bellows provide additional loading against closure. In alternative embodiments, Figs. 2b, 2c (not shown), the outer bellows may be placed on the outlet side of the valve plate or dispensed with altogether, the reference pressure chamber being defined by a sealing diaphragm between the valve plate and the housing, and loading being supplied by a helical spring. In a further embodiment, Fig. 2a the valve plate is replaced by a piston 36 sealed against the housing and the inlet spigot carrying the valve seat.
