Abstract

A stopper seat (1) fits over the neck of the bottle (2) which has a ring (3) round its top edge. A skirt (4) surrounds the neck of the bottle and the sat is held in place by a ledge (5) under a corresponding part of the bottle. The conical part (6) which fits inside the neck does not touch it, so compensating for variations in bottle neck dimensions. The stopper (8) comprises a flat base (10) and a conical piece (9) which fits inside the seat. The stopper seat is force fitted and its upper surface (7) allows the stopper to be easily centred.
