Abstract

A plastics closure cap for a container for heavy oil has an inverted U shaped rim which encloses the rim of the container between its two walls, the outer wall resting on a shoulder around the outside of the container rim. A sealing ring is located between them, on top of the container rim. The outer wall may have a set of cut-outs scooped from it, leaving a set of fingers (12) which curve outwards to carrying a locking ring. Various methods of releasing the locking ring are shown.
