Abstract

A multiple channel ventilation system for car parks, underground tunnels etc., includes a distribution arrangement employing one or more adjustable flow control vanes (8) located in the main duct (1) preceding the branch point (2) for two subsidiary ducts (3, 4) which incorporate a pair of extraction fans (5, 6). The distance of the vanes from the branch point is proportional to the size of the main duct, and is between 0.5 and 5 times the diameter or size of the largest side of the duct. The vanes may be of aerofoil shape or formed from falt or curved sheet and are adjustable individually or together.
