[Also in Division F2] Eddy formation and pressure head losses at the outlet of a centrifugal blower are reduced by a member 52, the exposed surface of which is of similar contour to the low pressure side of an aircraft wing, located at the junction between a curved duct portion 50 and a straight duct portion 51, on that side a of the duct which is nearer the axis of curvature of portion 50, all as in the parent Specification, and an aerofoil section vane 53 located opposite member 52 is pivotable about axis 54 like a butterfly valve. A plurality of such vanes may be used, their axes 54 lying in a common plane transverse to the conduit.
