575,663. Propellers and impellers. ESCHER WYSS MASCHINENFABRIKEN AKT.-GES. March 30, 1944, No. 5882. Convention date, March 31, 1943. [Class 114] In a variable pitch propeller for aircraft or impeller for axial blowers, an auxiliary flap 3 is adjusted automatically on adjustment of the main blade 2 so that, for large and small pitch angles of the main blade, the auxiliary flap is, respectively, close to, and spaced away from, the hub end of the main blade. A lateral arm 5 on the main blade projects into a rectangular slot 4 in the auxiliary flap and its concave lower surface 11 engages a ball-bearing 10. An extension 6 of the auxiliary flap carries a roller 9 which engages a guide race 7 in an annular body 8 on the propeller or impeller hub 1.
