Abstract

The machine for handling a lying crop such as grass, has a horizontal pick-up rotor at right angles to the direction of travel, connected via a passage to a chopping mechanism. The pick-up rotor is enclosed in a cowl, and its speed and shape are such as to generate a draught which, together with the centrifugal action of the tines, transports the crop through the passage to the chopping mechanism, in which a baffle guide plate is fitted.
