Abstract

1396546 A two row forage harvester MASCHINENFABRIK FAHR AG 27 Oct 1972 [4 Nov 1971] 49626/72 Heading A1F [Also in Division A4] A two row forage harvester, especially for maize, has two juxtaposed flywheel type cutter discs 3 carrying cutting blades 5 and chopping blades 6 and a blower 14 positioned between the discs from whence chopped material is discharged through an upwardly extending pipe 19. Forwardly extending feed devices 7, incorporating feeding screws or belts, deliver standing crop to the discs 3 whose blades 5 cut the crop and blades 6 cooperate with stationary counter blades 9 to chop it. The discs 3 are mounted on vertical axes 4 and are driven in opposite directions by a drive shaft 12 which also carries the blower 14 comprising a disc wheel 15 having radial blades 16. The chopped material is delivered, due to centrifugal forces, to the lower part of a blower housing 17 via openings 18.
