Abstract

As in parent patent jointing or repairing plastic insulated high voltage cable is achieved by wrapping plastic insulating strip around the joint and welding, however, penetration of the insulating strip into the strands of the cable, (which would lead to unequal thickness of the insulation), is avoided by first impregnating the outer strands of the cable with a heat resisting material, pref. casting resin or silicone rubber.
