Abstract

Furnace comprises a sealed heating chamber in which fits a vessel near whose base is a tubular diffuser consisting of a network of interconnecting tubes disposed as a horizontal layer and pierced by holes, the network being supplied with fluidizing gas. The holes are disposed along the lower generatrix of the tubes and the diffuser is disposed inside a muffle screen situated several cm from the interior wall of the vessel to create an annular space between them. The screen is raised above the vessel bottom, and the annular space is occupied by a pneumatic pump constituted by an annular tube whose lower part has holes through which convection gas passes.
