Abstract

Two sets of water tubes connected in series or parallel are arranged vertically around the inside of the cylinder, each set consisting of a zig-zag construction, and one set fitting inside the other. The tops of one set of tubes are U-connections which also bend inwards horizontally, and support a circular disc which forms an upper gas circulating chamber, while the bottoms are U-connections which bend outwards at the bottom for support on a raised rim around the bottom of the cylinder. The other set of tubes have an inner set of concentric tubes, open top and bottom to form paths for circulating the hot gases, forming part of a circulation system between the tubes and the outer wall of the cylinder.
