Abstract
Ground peanut prod. the particles of which pass through a 250 mu mesh width screen, present as a dry peanut powder, free-flowing at room temp. and consisting of equiaxial particles ground to a max. dia. of 250 mu are pref. used for peanut butter, and also as flavouring additives to cocktail biscuits or for immediate consumption. Peanut butter consists by wt. of >=85% peanut powder contg. >75% particles having a max. dia. of 250 mu., 0.5-15% carrier pref. consisting of 1-5% peanut oil. 0-10% hydrogenated edible vegetable oil, 0-3% sugar and 0-2% table salt. Pref. peanuts are cooled to >=-20 degrees C e.g. with liq. CO2, and impact ground at a temp. of >=-20 degrees C.
