Abstract

Sublimatic printing of textiles with woven, knitted or velvet-type structures or of carpets, comprises feeding the textile material stepwise and generating heat at every step to release the sublimatic dye from the transfer sheet. The transfer sheet is fed at right angle to the direction of the textile material. To assist penetration of the ink into the air-permeable material, an air flow is generated at every processing step. This effect may be increased by providing a vacuum at the side opposed to the printing foil.
