Abstract

Heat is used to bring the pattern transfer onto the material strip, which is held between two pattern carriers, each with their pattern side towards it. The heat required is applied to the rear faces of the layers resting against each other. The strip and the pattern carriers can be guided along a permeable supporting surface, an airtight sheet being mounted in front of one of the latter. The other, air-permeable carrier is placed close to the supporting surface, under which a vacuum is maintained. There can be heat radiation devices behind the supporting surface, a relative movement being maintained between it and them during feed and when stationary.
