Abstract

A plastic bottle has a cup shaped portion which is located in the bottle mouth and an annular flange which engages the bottle lip. The cup shaped portion defines a recess in which a vignette is located and the inner edge of the flange extends over the recess mouth and its dia. dia. of the vignette whereby the vignette is retained in the recess. An outer metal cap is located over the bottle mouth after the plastic cap has been inserted. The inner edge of the flange is discontinuous and pref. has a number of inwardly extending lips which can be deformed to allow the vignette to be pressed into the recess. Pref. the vignette is cut from a sheet and pressed into the recess by a tubular cutter blade. Mfr. of the bottle cap is simplified.
