Abstract

1398597 Drop dispenser ROUSSEL LABORATORIES Ltd 16 May 1973 [18 May 1972] 23519/72 Headings B8T and B8N A drop dispenser has a pliable teat held on to a container by means of a push-on collar and also a push-on cap which shrounds the teat and includes a stopper to seal the teat outlet. Flange 4 of teat 3 is held in contact with the rim of bottle 1 by plastics collar 5 which snaps on to the bottle neck by means of projections 2 and 6 on the bottle 1 and the collar 5 respectively. Cap 7 snaps onto the upper part of the collar 5 and has a closed end which is a good fit on the outside of the teat 3 along the common tapered surface 17 and also a tapered stopper 15 which seals the tapered outlet 16 of the teat 3. The lower annular part 10 of the cap 7 has a groove 12 which is a tight snap fit on a bead 11 on the teat 3 and is attached to the body of the cap 7 by a tear strip 13 with tab 14. After removal of the tear strip 13, the upper part of the cap 7 is located on the teat 3 by bead 9 snapping into groove 8. A second embodiment shows a similar assembly but with a shorter collar ending just above the flange 4 of the teat 3 and also a small annular clearance around the teat 3 along its length between the flange 4 and shoulder 7.
