Abstract

1400366 Wheel covers DAIMLER-BENZ AG 28 June 1973 [12 July 1972] 30827/73 Heading B7C A wheel cover comprises a disc 12 of synthetic plastics material provided with a circumferential bead 16 formed with a circumferential groove 17 containing a resilient ring having a portion projecting from the groove for engagement with an annular recess 19 in the rim 20 of a wheel to retain the disc on the wheel. In the Fig. 1, embodiment, the groove 17 is of channel section and the ring is a rectangular section rubber annulus 18. Alternatively, Fig. 3, the groove may be of semi-circular section and the ring may be formed by a helically wound spring 24 whose coils 25 are inclined to the circumferential direction of the ring as shown. The disc 12 may be made of polyamide, polypropylene, A.B.S., or glass fibre reinforced plastics, and may be chromium plated. The ring may be secured in the groove by adhesive.
