Abstract
Metal oxide condenser prodn.. G6A. Comprises heating a nickel substance in the presence of oxygen to form NiO on its surface. The nickel body is then quickly quenched for 5 secs. in a bath of a fluid or gaseous medium of good thermal conductivity which does not form a reducing or oxidising agent. A vacuum is created about this bath to impregnate the hickel body. The nickel body is heated to 766 degrees C to 985 degrees C. After the first quenching, the body is given a conductive coating on the NiO surface and the coated body is then heated to 760 degrees C 930 degrees C in the presence of and quickly quenched again or 5 secs. The coating is oxygen-permeable and includes an oxygen donor. A condenser produced by the above procedure has a first, nickel electrode, a dielectric define by an oxide film of NiO, and a second electrode on the dielectric.
