Abstract

Electrolyte contains, apart from slight quantities of sulphuric acid and, possibly, oxalic acid, also maleic acid in proportions ranging from 10 to 40%. The surface of the cathode amounts to the half to 1/10 of the surface of the anode. More specifically cathode materials are graphite or aluminium alloys with large proportions of zinc, silicium, magnesium or tin. Aluminium alloys have contents of 10-40% of zinc or 8-30% of silicium. Advantage: duration of using the bath without regeneration by a coefficient ranging from 5 to 20 according to the anodisation conditions.
