Claims (4)

1. Förfarande för framställning av en förening med formeln X R*0^yA(CH,)nCII,0H Y [i vilken formel säväl R1 som R2 betecknar en lägre alkyl-grupp; n beteckanr ett helt tai 0 - 21; X betecknar en väte- atom eller en valbart skyddad hydroxylgrupp; och Y betecknar en valbart skyddad hydroxylgrupp], i vilket förfarande en esterförening med formeln X R,0-'^5j^(CIIt)nC00R3 Y [där R1, R2, n, X och Y betecknar samma som ovan definierats och R3 är en lägre alkylgrupp] reduceras, känneteck-n a t av att reduktionen utförs med en blandning av natrium-borhydrid och aluminiumklorid i närvaro av vatten.
2. Förfarande enligt patentkravet 1, kännetecknat av att natriumborhydriden används i en mängd om minst 1, 5 mol per mol av utgängsföreningen.
3. Förfarande enligt patentkravet 1, kännetecknat av att natriumborhydriden används i en mängd om ca 3 mol per mol aluminiumklorid.
4. Förfarande enligt patentkravet 1, kännetecknat av att vatten används i en mängd om ca 0, 1 - 1,7 mol per mol aiumi ni umklori d.
