Claims (7)

1. Förfarande för metylering av xantiner, känneteck-n a t därav, att dimetylkarbonat användes som mety1eringsrea-gens, varvid utgängsmaterialets mol förhäl1ande tili dimetyl-karbonatet är 1:3 - 1:50, reaktionsblandningens pH justeras med en vattenbuffert tili mellan 7,8 - 7,1 och reaktionen sker 100 - 250°C, under motsvarande förhöjt tryck.
2. Förfarande enligt patentkravet 1, kännetecknat därav, att tili reaktionsblandningen sätts ett organiskt 1ösningsmedel med en sur väteatom, lämpligen metanol.
3. Förfarande enligt patentkravet 1, kännetecknat därav, att xantin eller 3-metylxantin eller deras natrium-eller kalciumsalt metyleras tili teobromin, varvid dimetylkarbonat användes i ett mol förhil1ande utgängsmaterialet:dimetyl-karbonat = 1:3 - 1:50, företrädesvis 1:7 - 1:10, och reaktionen utföres i vatten eller en vattenbuffert (pH 7,8 - 7,1) vid 100 - 250°C, företrädesvis 170 - 200°, och under motsvarande förhöjt tryck.
4. Förfarande enligt patentkravet 1, kännetecknat därav, att xantin, 3-metylxantin eller teofyllin eller deras natrium- eller kalciumsalt metyleras koffein, varvid dimetylkarbonat användes i ett mol förhällande utgängsmaterialet:di -metylkarbonat = 1:3 - 1:50, företrädesvis 1:7 - 1:10, och reaktionen utföres 100 - 250°C, företrädesvis 170 - 200°C, och under motsvarande förhöjt tryck.
5. Förfarande enligt patentkravet 4, kännetecknat därav, att ett surt 1ösningsmedel tillsätts i reaktionsblandningen.
6. Förfarande enligt patentkravet 5, kännetecknat därav, att metanol tillsätts reaktionsblandningen. 13 89 4 0 5
7. Förfarande enligt patentkravet 6, kännetecknat därav, att metanol tillsätts i ett mol förhäl1ande dimetylkar-bonat:metanol frän = 3,3:1 - 2:1.
