Keksinnön kohteena on menetelmä vyöhykesaumaliitoksen valmistamiseksi ultraäänihitsauksella erityisesti päädyn omaavaan taiverasiaan, joka on termoplastisella tekoaineella päällystettyä kar-tonkimateriaalia, jolloin vyöhykesauman taittamisen jälkeen sen hitsattavat alueet pidetään yhdessä valmistettavan hitsaussauman rasian sisustaan päin olevalla sivulla ulkoapäin hitsaussauman kanssa yhdensuuntaisesti ja pienen välin päässä tästä kulkevaa viivaa pitkin vaikuttavien puristusvoimien avulla ja nämä puristusvoimat vaikuttavat hitsaus- ja jäähdytystapahtuman ajan.
Tällaisen tunnetun menetelmän yhteydessä tuodaan vyöhyke-sauman keskenään hitsattavat alueet taiverasian päädyn taittamisen jälkeen niin kutsutun alasimen ja ultraääniaalloilla värähtelemään saatetun sonotrodin väliin. Käynnistämällä sonotrodi ultraääni-aalloilla pehmennetään keskenään hitsattavien alueiden vastakkain olevilla sivuilla oleva tekoainekerros ja hitsataan. Käytäntö on 2 62024 nyt osoittanyt, että erityisesti silloin., kun taiverasian sisäsivuilla on vielä lisäksi alumiinikalvo, ultraäänihitsauksella valmistettu vyöhykesauma ei voi sulkea taiverasiaa halutulla varmuudella. Vyöhykesaumaan muodostuu nimittäin kraaterimaisia avonaisia kohtia. (US-patenttijulkaisu 3 910 014).
Keksinnön päämääränä on parantaa alussa mainitunlaista menetelmää siten, että ultraäänihitsauksella voidaan valmistaa moitteeton, taiverasian tiivistävä vyöhykesauma.
Keksinnölle on tunnusomaista, että käytettäessä kartonki-materiaalia, jossa on sisäpuolinen alumiinifolio puristus vähenee hitsaussaumassa hitsaustapahtuman yhteydessä hitsaussauman keskustasta rasian sisustaan päin olevaa reunaa kohti jatkuvasti siten, että keskustasta reunaan päin työntyvä termoplastinen teko-aine muodostaa V-sauman.
Keksintö johti siihen yllättävään tulokseen, että tavanomaisten ultraäänihitsausmenetelmien avulla voidaan saada aikaan moitteeton, ts. kraatereista vapaa ja täysin tiivis vyöhykesauma taiverasian sulkemiseksi, jos molempia hitsattavia alueita hitsaustapahtuman aikana pidetään lujasti toisiaan vasten. Keksintö on tämän ratkaisun yhteydessä lähtenyt siitä tiedosta, että hitsaussauman keskenään hitsattavat alueet eivät kartonkimateriaa-lin paluuvoimien vuoksi pysy päädyn taittamisen jälkeen riittävän lujasti toisiaan vasten hitsaustapahtuman aikana hitsaussaumalle edestakaisin liikutetun sonotrodin suuresta taajuudesta huolimatta. Tämä epäkohta voidaan korjata keksinnön mukaisin äärimmäisen yksinkertaisin keinoin.
Seuraavassa selitetään keksintöä lähemmin piirustuksen yhteydessä, joka esittää hitsaustyökalujen osaa hitsauksen aikana.
Hitsausmenetelmää varten tarvittava hitsauslaite muodostuu alasimesta 1 ja sen kanssa yhteistoiminnassa olevasta, ultraäänen avulla työskentelevästä sonotrodista 2 hitsaustyökaluina. Sellainen hitsauslaite on periaatteessa tunnettu (US-patenttijulkaisu 3 468 731).
Alasimen 1 viereen on jättäen väliin rako 4 sovitettu taive-rasiaan 3 päin olevalle puolelle taittotyökalu 5 samalle kannat-timelle 6. Sonotrodin 2 viereen on jättäen väliin rakoa 4 vastapäätä oleva rako 7 sovitettu taiverasiaan 3 päin olevalle puolelle ensimmäisen taittotyökalun 5 kanssa yhteistoiminnassa oleva toinen taittotyökalu 8, joka on tuettu sonotrodin 2 ei-esitetylle kannat- 3 62024 tixnelle ei-esitetyn painejousen välityksellä. Hitsaus- ja taitto-työkalujen 1, 2, 5, 8 liike tapahtuu pihtimäisesti. Tämä voi tapahtua sinänsä tunnetun käytön avulla (saksalainen hakemusjulkaisu 2 520 400).
Kun taiverasian 3 vielä avoin mutta taittoviivat omaava pääty 9 siirretään poikittaisasennossa vielä avoimien taitto-työkalujen 5, 8 kohdalle, liikkuvat taittotyökalut 5, 8 pihtimäisesti toisiaan vasten ja saattavat tällöin päädyn 9 piirustuksessa esitettyyn taittoasentoon, jossa varsinainen hitsaus voi tapahtua.
Hitsaustapahtuman aikana pidetään keskenään hitsattavat, sisäpuolelta termoplastisella tekoaineella, esim. polyetyleenillä, päällystetyt vyöhykesauma-alueet 10, 11 yhdessä välittömästi tait-toviivojen 12, 13 yläpuolelta taittotyökalujen 5, 8 avulla vyö-hykesauman koko pituudelta. Pienen välin päässä taittotyökaluista 5, 8 tarttuvat hitsaustyökalut 1, 2. Niin pian kun sonotrodi 2 käynnistetään ultraääniaalloilla, pehmenee termoplastinen teko-aine ja se työntyy alasimen 1 jonkin verran kuperasti kaarevan pinnan vuoksi reunoja kohti siten, että tänne muodostuvat V-sau-mat 14, 15. Näillä V-saumoilla 14, 15 on huomattava merkitys sekä liitoksen mekaaniselle lujuudelle että myös sen tiiviydelle.
Sen jälkeen kun tällä tavalla on muodostettu hitsaussauma, voidaan ultraäänikäyttö kytkeä pois toiminnasta. Vyöhykesauma-alu-eita 10, 11 pidetään kuitenkin vielä lyhyen aikaa yhdessä taitto-työkalujen 5, 8 avulla, kunnes hitsaussauma on riittävästi jäähtynyt, jotta alueet voivat omin voimin pysyä yhdessä.
Koska keksinnön yhteydessä taittotyökalut 5, 8 Ottavat vastaan vyöhykesauma-alueiden 10, 11 mahdolliset paluuvoimat, pysyvät vyöhykesauma-alueet 10, 11 hitsaussauman alueella toisiaan vasten hitsaustapahtuman aikana. Mekaaniselle lujuudelle ja tiiviydelle haitallista kraaterien muodostumista ei esiinny enää hitsauksen aikana.
Keksinnön mukaisella menetelmällä on myös valmistustekniseltä kannalta sikäli etuja, ettei tarvita mitään lisätyökaluja vyö-hykesauma-alueiden yhdessä pitämiseksi, vaan sitä varten voidaan käyttää joka tapauksessa olemassa olevia,, mutta esillä olevassa tapauksessa yhdessä hitsaustyökalujen kanssa käytettyjä taitto-työkaluja.
