COMPRENDE LAS SIGUIENTES OPERACIONES: PRIMERA, LA SUPERFICIE DE LOS COMPONENTES NUCLEARES SE EXPLORA POR MEDIO DE UN HAZ DE RADIACION LASER QUE TIENE UNA DENSIDAD DE ENERGIA SUFICIENTE PARA CONSEGUIR UNA PENETRACION TERMICA QUE CORRESPONDE AL ESPESOR DE LA CAPA DE OXIDO DE METAL CONTAMINADO RADIOACTIVAMENTE Y CON UNA ANCHURA SUSTANCIALMENTE SUPERIOR AL ESPESOR DE DICHA CAPA DE OXIDO; SEGUNDA, UNA VEZ COMPROBADA LA EXISTENCIA DE OXIDO DE METAL CONTAMINADO, SE ELIMINA LA CAPA CORRESPONDIENTE DEL MISMO POR MEODOS CONOCIDOS; TERCERA, LOS CONTAMINANTES LIBERADOS DE LA SUPERFICIE SE ASPIRAN Y TRANSPORTAN FUERA DEL COMPONENTE.
