Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound in high yield in high quality useful as an intermediate for synthesizing drugs, by condensing a halogenoacetophenone derivative with 3,4-dimethoxyphenethylamine in a solvent of two phase system in the presence of an inorganic base. CONSTITUTION:A halogenoacetophenone derivative shown by the formulaI(R is hydroxyl-protecting group X is halogen) is condensed with 3,4-dimethoxyphenethylamine in a solvent of two phase system consisting of a nonhydrophilic organic solvent and water in the presence of an inorganic base, to give an alpha- (3,4-dimethoxyphenethylamino)acetophenone derivative shown by the formula II. A halogenated hydrocarbon is used as the nonhydrophilic organic solvent. EFFECT:Side reactions such as the decomposition of the compound shown by the formula II, etc. are suppressed, the chance wherein a raw material having high stimulation and corrosive properties is brought into contact with man can be reduced, and operations are extremely advantageous in this process with respect to safety.
