Abstract

A warning sign esp. for roads comprises a housing (2) carrying a translucent window (4) on its front face. The interior of the housing contains a panel (7) which carries the message to be displayed. The panel moves between a position in which it bears against the window (4) allowing themessage to be read from the exterior and another position in which the panel is situated near the rear face of the housing, where the message is illegible. The panel pref. warns of slippery conditions and is actuated by a mechanism which is responsive to rainfall.
