Abstract

Method for producing coolers for metallurgical furnaces, in which the chilling pipework is coated on its surface with a protective layer and is embedded in molten grey cast iron or casting steel, in order to form a chilling body, which is characterised in that the chilling tubes and the chilling body are joined to one another via a diffusion layer of Fe-Al alloy given casting with molten metal or during a controlled solidification of the casting and subsequent annealing of the solidified casting.
